Right then, guys, I’ve been debating whether to post this for days, but I just need to get it off me chest... 🙈 I’m 39, I live in Richmond, West London, and I work down at McDonald’s. Not in a £4 million Victorian gaff — just a rented flat I share with my mate Chloe, living off £1,500 a month. Rent is £600, plus bills, plus food. By the 25th of the month, I’m proper skint, living off instant noodles and pure hope. Three months ago, I had to take out a £2,500 loan for me mum’s washing machine because it packed up and she was too proud to ask for help. Now I’m paying £180 a month back on that, which leaves me with literally £200 for myself for the whole month. Knackered doesn't even cover it. Chloe's always telling me, "You need a proper job, babes," but I just say, "Doing what? I only know how to smile and count change." 🤷♀️ Cut to last Friday. I was working the counter inside the restaurant. Absolute chaos, feet killing me, brain completely fried. Suddenly, the front glass doors swing open. In walks this lad in a casual hoodie and baseball cap, and right next to him is this stunning girl in dark sunglasses. Straight off a flight or a shoot. I thought, "Ere, another pair of tourists." I looked up and just went on autopilot: — "Evening! What can I get for you?" And he answers. Friendly voice, proper London accent, dead calm: — "Evening. Can we get two Big Macs, a large fries, and two milkshakes, please?" I looked up properly to check the order, and me jaw just hit the floor. Tom Holland and Zendaya. Spider-Man himself, fresh off filming the new movie, standing right there in front of my counter with Zendaya right by his side. Just the two of them, no massive entourage or heavy security. 🤯 Chloe popped up from the next till over, staring like she'd seen a ghost. — "You… you’re Tom Holland? And Zendaya?!" I squeaked. He just gave this big, cheeky grin while Zendaya gave us a sweet little wave: — "Something like that. Good to be back home in London for a bit."
