🔴🔴 5 YEARS DOING DELIVERIES IN DUBLIN AND STILL DROWNING IN DEBT 😤 I’m based in Dublin. About five years ago I did what most lads end up doing. Took out a €35,000 loan, got myself a van and started doing deliveries for DPD. Thought that was it, finally gonna make decent money. Construction had already wrecked my back anyway. Told myself it’d just be temporary. Couple of years, get sorted, move on. Didn’t work out like that.. Just got stuck in it. Now every day’s the same grind. Up at 5, out the door by 6, loading the van at the depot, then straight into it. 200+ drops a day, no breaks, no breathing space. Scanner going off non-stop, timer rushing you, routes all over the place, sat-nav useless half the time. Rain, constant traffic on the M50, customers kicking off. Late once and your rating takes a hit. By the evening you’re completely spent. Back’s gone, legs are dead, hands shaking from being flat out all day. On paper it looks alright, €140–€160 a day. Reality? After diesel, insurance, repairs, rent, bills, food… nothing left. Proper living month to month. And the van loan still sitting there. €35k down to barely €22k after five years. Feels like you’re not moving at all. Just going round in circles. Mid-Feb I finally had a couple days off. Nothing special, just normal life stuff. Did a big food shop, Aldi and Lidl over in Tallaght. Stopped at a Circle K near Richmond Park, filled up, grabbed a coffee and sat in the van. Quiet. Just street lights and nothing going on. Started scrolling on my phone. Then a video pops up with Colin Farrell talking about some app. I skipped it. Couple minutes later… same video again. I just laughed like “yeah right, not what I need right now.” Then another DPD driver pulls up next to me. I know most of the lads around here. We start chatting. Same problems, same stress. And he goes: “Mate, I tried that app Colin Farrell was on about yesterday… put a bit in and pulled out €900.” Shows me his phone. Proper mo
