Royal Olympus
Right then, guys, I’ve been debating whether to post this for days, but I just need to get it off me chest... 🙈 I’m 39, I live on the Isle of Man (yep, where Tyson Fury’s just moved!), and I work as a cashier at a local petrol station. Not in an £8 million gaff, mind — just a rented flat I share with my mate Mary, living off £1,500 a month. Rent is £600, plus bills, plus food. By the 25th of the month, I’m proper skint, living off instant noodles and pure hope. Three months ago, I had to take out a £2,500 loan for me mum’s washing machine because it packed up and she was too proud to ask for help. Now I’m paying £180 a month back on that, which leaves me with literally £200 for myself for the whole month. Knackered doesn't even cover it. Mary's always telling me, "You need a proper job, babes," but I just say, "Doing what? I only know how to smile and count change." 🤷♀️ Cut to last Friday. I was working the night shift behind the counter. Absolute chaos, feet killing me, brain completely fried. Suddenly, the front glass doors swing open. In walks this massive geezer — broad shoulders, simple clobber. I thought, "Ere, another tourist." I looked up and just went on autopilot: — "Evening! What can I get for you?" And he answers. Deep voice, slight accent, dead calm: — "Evening. Can I pay for some petrol and two Coke Zeros?" I looked up properly to check the order, and me jaw just hit the floor. Tyson Fury. Petrol, Coke Zero, and the heavyweight champion of the world, standing right there in front of my till. Completely on his own. No missus, no kids, no heavies. 🤯 Mary popped up from the back room, staring like she'd seen a ghost. — "You… you’re Tyson Fury?" I squeaked. He just gave this big grin: — "Something like that. Heard I’m local now, eh. Let's get the rest of the gang out here and get a picture properly." Dan and Steve legged it out from the stockroom. He was proper sound, giving us hugs, having a laugh, and joking: "Right, now you can tell your grandkid
