I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE…❌❌❌ I had just £31 left, a £2,700 car repair bill, and debt collectors calling me every single day. That was the night everything changed. My name’s Marco Moretti. I’m 37. I’m from the UK. I’m just a regular taxi driver. Been doing it about 9 years now, mostly through apps and a few private jobs here and there. Money was alright — around £2,400, sometimes up to £2,900 a month if I put the hours in. My girlfriend had cut back her hours for a while, so most of the pressure was on me. We thought we could get through a couple of months… until things settled down again. But then everything went wrong. Winter 2025/2026 was awful. Rain non-stop. Then the car finished me off. Clutch and gearbox went. £2,700 to fix it. Without a car in this job, you’re done. No rides, no money. I was losing money every day while it sat in the garage. At first I managed on a credit card and overdraft. Then I had to take out a proper loan. I thought: “Fix the car, get back to work, pay it off quick.” Didn’t go like that. Interest. More bills. Unexpected costs. Everything just spiralled. Debt kept growing. Collectors calling non-stop. And you sit there in the evening… looking around… thinking: “How did it even get this bad?” All I wanted was a normal life. Go fishing now and then, spend time with my girlfriend. One night I couldn’t sleep. Just laying there, scrolling on my phone. Came across people talking about some app with Fisherman. Saying they were making money on it.
