My name's amelia. I'm 44. I come from a really poor background. My parents died when I was just five. And since I didn't have any other family, I grew up in the care system. They shoved us in the smallest, darkest box room. It was honestly more of a cupboard than a bedroom. From day one, they made my life an absolute living hell. They looked down their noses at me. They constantly humiliated me. Always throwing it in my face that I was a penniless nobody who only brought grief to their son. Every single morning, I'd wake up to their loud, disapproving sighs. If I used a drop too much washing-up liquid, Susan would start screaming the place down. They never let me forget that I came into this marriage with nothing but a bin bag full of rags. And that if they hadn’t taken me in out of pity, I’d have starved on the streets ages ago. They dumped every single household chore on me. Treating me like some unpaid servant.
