The crash that changed everything… 😵 My name's Jonathan, I'm 43, and two months ago I was in a proper nasty car accident that turned my whole life upside down. 😱 It was a standard Saturday evening, more like night, really. I was having trouble with my sleep schedule. 🥱 My mate Sam asked me to pick him up from the pub and drive him home. He was already quite pissed, and he didn't fancy paying a hundred quid for a taxi. I lived nearby. 🍻 Picked Sam up from the bar and drove him home. He lived half an hour away, out of town. By then, it was already 2 AM. 🕑 I dropped Sam off at his house, where his furious wife Mary was waiting for him—and you could understand why, Sam often came home drunk. 😤 On the way back, I blasted the music in my car and was driving along, nodding my head to my favourite Rammstein. 🎸😎 About five minutes later, I felt like I was doing about 65 mph. Thought I saw someone standing in the road, swerved sharply to avoid them, but lost control of the car and flew off the road at full speed. 💥 Next thing I know, I woke up in the hospital, almost completely in plaster. 🏥 The only one in the room with me was Sam, who was peacefully sleeping in a chair. 😴 I tried to call out to him, but was immediately gripped by pain. The sound I managed to make was enough though, and he heard me, calling the doctors straight away. 👨⚕️ Long story short, I was bloody lucky. The car was a complete write-off. Totalled. 🚗💔 I survived by a miracle. And not only did I survive, but as the doctor said, there'd be no permanent damage to my health. Once all the bones healed (23 of them were broken!), I could return to a normal life.
