I didn’t even realise I was crying until I saw myself in the front camera. It sounds stupid now, but at that moment I genuinely thought something was wrong with the app. I just opened the balance, saw the number – and my first thought wasn’t excitement, it was: “that can’t be real.” I refreshed the screen a few times. Same amount. Still there. A couple of hours before that I had walked past a small shop and noticed a Mecca Bingo poster. Didn’t think much of it at the time. Later that evening, out of boredom, I was scrolling through Facebook and saw an ad for Mecca Bingo. I clicked out of curiosity – there was a small bonus and some free spins, so I decided to give it a go. It went up a bit, then dropped again – and I thought that was it, closed the app and went to sleep. The next day I opened it again just to finish the free spins… and that’s when it happened. It wasn’t an instant “wow”, I actually needed a moment to understand what I was even looking at. The screen suddenly started going absolutely mental — lights flashing, music blaring — and then, there it was: “Congratulations — £64,500.” I just sat there staring at the screen with no real reaction. When I tried to withdraw the money, I was sure something would go wrong. It didn’t come through right away, and I was already expecting a catch. But in the end it did arrive, just the next morning. That photo is the exact moment the money finally showed up in my bank account, and even then I didn’t fully believe it. In the end, I didn’t quit my job or do anything crazy. It just became a bit easier to breathe. Still feels strange, to be honest… 🙂 Didn’t even plan to share it, but if anyone asks I’ll leave it here.
