Marco Romano

My name is Marco, and I’m 32. I moved to the UK from Italy with my wife nearly four years ago. Honestly, those were the toughest years of my entire life. Not because Britain is a bad place—not at all. But because life sometimes hits you so hard that you just stand there wondering how you’re still functioning. We left Italy because there was simply no future left for us there. Overwhelming bills, endless loans, and miserable wages. Within a week, I couldn't sit behind the wheel or stand without crying from pain. Hospital visits, a pinched nerve, severe disc issues. No driving, no heavy lifting, and months of painful recovery ahead. As we left the clinic, I looked at my wife softly and whispered: "I let us down. I'm so sorry." Meanwhile, car
