I went to Dunnes Stores and came back with a smashed bumper and Colin Farrell’s phone number. My name is Sarah Byrne. I’m 34 years old, living in Dublin, over in Cabra near Phibsborough. I have an 8-year-old son, Sean. I work as a shop assistant in a small clothing boutique just off Henry Street. My wage is around €2,200 a month — maybe a tiny bit more if I manage to pick up a few extra hours. But in Dublin nowadays, that money vanishes before you even see it. Rent for a small two-bed flat is €1,450. After paying, I went out to the carpark, put the bags on the back seat, and got into the car. Started the engine, put it in reverse, and began backing out slowly. And right then — bang. Not a massive crash, but a proper solid bump. I slammed on the brakes immediately. My first thought wasn't even “what happened?”, it was just “please, not this”. I got out of the car and saw another car had caught my side while reversing out too. The bumper was half hanging off, the headlight was cracked, and the wing was scratched to bits. To someone else, it’s nothing. To me, it was absolute disaster. Because I already knew any local garage would charge me at least €800 or €1,000. And if something was broken underneath, even more. The guy got out of the other car and immediately started apologising. It
